During the winter months our main concern for an irrigation system is water freezing in the pipes. As water freezes the ice swells and causes cracks or breakage on the walls of the pipes. This will lead to water waste and inadequate watering of landscaping in the future.

How to stay proactive
Preventing damage to the irrigation system is simple, you should focus on removing water from the pipes before the weather changes – we refer to this as "winterizing" your irrigation system – this will help prevent damage to the in-ground pipes. Along with winterizing your system, you should also be sure to insulate the main shut off and back flow valve to prevent damage to interior components.

Pro Tip
Always consult with a professional for maintenance as projects can be intricate and dangerous.
Here’s how to do it:
Stay a head of the weather
Remove the water in the pipes
Don't forget to insulate the main shut off and back flow valve
Consult a professional
